@unksol I really enjoy Dr Who. Sad That there was NO Christmas/ New Years episode. Yes I remember that episode! I was not about to watch it. I could not find it on Disney+.
Question who is your Fav Doctor!
#1: Tennant
#2: The One True Baker (Tom)
#3: Eccleston (Had he served longer, might be tied for first.)
#4: Tie between Smith and Capaldi
Everyone else prior to Capaldi is tied for #6 except Davison (third from last), Colin Baker (next to last) and Hartnell (dead last). (And yes, I’ll allow McGann in there despite the brevity of his tenure.) I haven’t seen enough of Whittaker or Gatwa to have an opinion about placement other than “good enough”.
@werehatrack Well I started with Eccleston. when they restarted the series. Yes my Favs are Tennant, Capaldi & Smith. I did kinda like Whittaker… I have not seen many of the older ones.
@mycya4me@werehatrack I have bought a girlfriend Tardis earrings and watched from the start. So. Not sure. People get weird who about the last few years
As I have aged, my enthusiasm for going to places via the use of incredibly expensive and/or dangerous transportation methods has waned. All things considered, I think I’d prefer to go to Bryce Canyon on a moonless night in midsummer.
I would choose the moon. When I was a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut which wasn’t very common for a woman back then. My parents didn’t discourage my dream even though they knew it wasn’t likely.
I never actively pursued it but I did try for a degree in aerospace engineering. The flying public does not realize how much safer they became when I decided to switch to IT.
I’m pretty much up for travel anywhere/anytime.
When I was diving I thoroughly enjoyed my time underwater. I still love snorkeling, but haven’t been in a tank/regulator set up in years. The thought of traveling in space is very appealing as well. Experiencing weightlessness or microgravity would be pretty fantastic.
On the other hand there are plenty of places on the surface of Earth that I have never visited that I would go to equally as happily…
@cfg83 We also need either a hell of a bunch of gengineering (of a nature we can’t even guess about) or hella better radiation shielding than Apollo had. The question of whether the transit to Mars is survivable is still open. China may collect enough data to answer it before we do, if they actually establish a working lunar surface station.
@werehatrack I think Mars isn’t possible with today’s tech. For transit, I would surround the people in a globe of (heavy?) water to have any chance of surviving the radiation along the way. And once you get there, you will be living in Mars, not on Mars.
My Dad has an analogy. Going to the moon is like going to Catalina Island, which is a helicopter ride from Los Angeles. Going to Mars is like going to Hawaii. People have no idea how hard this is.
Both seem kind of cold. Are those hoodies from yesterday still available?
The moon for sure, that would be surreal looking up at the Earth.
Don’t be looking at my moon Meh!
@therealjrn Why so many craters?!?!
@yakkoTDI

I’d combine them and go the dark side of the moon.
/showme there is no dark side of the moon. As a matter of fact, it’s all dark
@haydesigner Here’s the image you requested for “there is no dark side of the moon. As a matter of fact, it’s all dark”
Honestly kinda weak and not awesome, @mediocrebot
PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!
@mediocrebot No need to get excited. The word not was there.
/showme cats in spacesuits walking on the moon
@mycya4me Here’s the image you requested for “cats in spacesuits walking on the moon”
/showme cats in swimsuits paddling in the dark zone of the ocean
@aetris Here’s the image you requested for “cats in swimsuits paddling in the dark zone of the ocean”
@mycya4me I feel like that’s a Doctor Who episode
there’s definitely rinos on the moon.
/youtube Judoon on the moon
@aetris
Yikes. Those would be some flat kitties!

@mediocrebot @mycya4me Change the lyrics to that Sting song “walking on the moon” to “Kitties on the moon”.
@mycya4me @unksol #4 Tom Baker (+Leela) first. I watched him on channel 52 in Los Angeles in the 1970s.
Timey Wimey Matt Smith (+Amy Pond) second.
@cfg83 @mycya4me I do think I relate more by companion than doctor. Pond and Claire AKA impossible girl
@unksol Clara was definitely my #1 companion, Amy Pond a close second, Leela a very close third.
@werehatrack I will admit I have never seen the originals. Just snippets. I suspect they may have aged better than some trek TOS
@werehatrack
/youtube heaven sent Doctor
@werehatrack also it’s weird being 40 and Stargate and TNG/DS9 and knew who… Are classic to me
People who know what SCIFI was before ScyFy… Or whatever
The dystopia is getting stronger.
Kids should not have been exposed to intentionally manipulative companies… But congress critters are so fucking behind…
Meanwhile parents rant at school board meeting against facts. I… I used to want kids but this fucking shit…

I’d prefer whichever I’m more likely to come back from.

Pretty much moon. I’m 74 with bad knees, 1/6 gravity sounds pretty good to me.
Deep sea to see all the ugly creatures that live down there.
@kittykat9180 Remarkably, many of them aren’t ugly at all.
@werehatrack

I think that’s subjective.
@kittykat9180 @werehatrack beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
@kittykat9180 @werehatrack These dudes look like pals of Irk and [forgot name] sock puppet guy. I think the second one is yelling “I blame society!”
@cfg83
/showme Glen from Meh
@Euniceandrich Here’s the image you requested for “Glen from Meh”
@Euniceandrich @mediocrebot Glen looks different without his sock.
@Euniceandrich OMG, a 44 minute Glenathon … Heyyyyy, that’s an idea, right?
Moon please. We need a lotta practice if we’re ever gonna toodle around the solar system.

@cfg83 @werehatrack Hey, I’ve been to Hawaii several times! Does that mean I’m ready for Mars?
@macromeh @werehatrack Egg-zactly. But you need to do some prep-trips to Catalina a few times to put it in perspective.
/showme Anthropomorphized goat named “macromeh” is wearing spacesuit without helmet on Mars and is walking in city that is called “New Hawaii”.

@mediocrebot @macromeh You rock that space suit!
@cfg83
Dreams come true
In New Hawaii…
@cfg83 @macromeh
At least the pickup isn’t a cyber truck!
@cfg83 @chienfou Probably a MarsraM
